Easy to use

Signed up for VideoScribe Monthly Standard. Created an explainer video. Software worked fine. No issues. Quick to get started.

Good value with yearly plan

I was looking for a decent animation tool but didn't want to overspend. I got the VideoScribe Yearly Standard after doing the free trial. The annual plan was a much better deal than monthly, saved me a good chunk of change upfront. It felt worth the purchase for what I paid. Making my first animated infographic was pretty straightforward, so that was good.

Reliable tool for quick videos

This isn't my first time with VideoScribe. I've used their Desktop version for a while, and this time I tried out the Browser one for a quick project. The experience was consistent with previous orders. I needed to whip up a short hand-drawn animation, and it delivered without any fuss. The SVG image library and royalty-free music are always a plus. It's why I keep coming back, it just works. The video export to 1080p was smooth, no hiccups. Good to see they maintain quality.

Hey, thinking about getting VideoScribe. Is it easy for someone with zero design skills to pick up? Or do I need to be some kind of graphic designer wizard?

J Jennifer J. 1 month ago
Nah, it's pretty beginner-friendly. I'm terrible at design and I made some decent stuff after watching a couple tutorials. They have a ton of templates too.

Totally agree. It's built for people who aren't designers. Just drag and drop, mostly. The hardest part is probably coming up with good ideas for your video, not actually making it.

Has anyone compared VideoScribe to Doodly? I'm torn between the two and not sure which one is better for making explainer videos.

B Brittany Parker 2 weeks ago
I've used both. VideoScribe feels a bit more polished and has a bigger library of assets, especially if you get the full subscription. Doodly is okay, but I found VideoScribe easier to get the exact look I wanted. Their drawing animation just looks more natural to me.

VideoScribe is better for customizability in my opinion. Doodly is super simple but can feel a bit limited if you want to do anything beyond basic whiteboard stuff. Check out their SVG import feature, that's a game changer.

Anyone know if VideoScribe does a Black Friday sale? I'm trying to decide if I should buy now or wait a bit for a better deal.

J Justin P. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually do! I got my annual plan last Black Friday for a pretty sweet discount. Worth waiting a month or two if you're not in a rush.

They definitely have Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Also, check around New Year's too, sometimes they have deals then. But usually the annual plan is already cheaper than monthly, so that's a good starting point for savings.

Can I use VideoScribe on my Mac and my Windows laptop at the same time? Or is it tied to just one computer?

K Kyle Martinez 1 month ago
You can install it on multiple computers, I have it on my desktop and my laptop (both Windows). I think you can only be logged in and actively using it on one at a time, though. So, not simultaneously, but you can switch between machines.

Yeah, you can install it on both Mac and Windows, it's not restricted to one OS. Just don't try to run it on both at the exact same moment. It's pretty flexible.

What's the real difference between VideoScribe Desktop and Browser? I'm mostly worried about being able to work offline sometimes.

R Rachel Hernandez 1 month ago
Desktop version lets you work offline, which is clutch. The browser one is, well, browser-based, so you need internet. I think the desktop one might have a few more features too, but not sure on that.

Yep, Desktop is for offline. Browser is good if you're always connected and want to access it from anywhere without installing software. If offline access is important, go Desktop for sure.
